Using SweepTech offline

Check-ins work without a connection. They are saved on your device and sync when you are back online, without duplicates.

What works offline

  • Checking in, skipping, adding a note, adjusting a count, and running a timer.
  • Viewing Today, your habits, and the history already loaded on the device.
  • Starting and finishing a routine.

Streaks update instantly on the device and settle with the server after sync.

What needs a connection

  • Signing in, or saving a guest session to an account.
  • Circles: the feed, reactions, and nudges.
  • Billing, export, and account deletion.
  • Anything you have not opened on this device before.

How sync works

Each check-in gets an id on your device and goes into a queue. When you are back online, the queue flushes to the server. Because the id travels with it, a check-in is never counted twice, even if the connection drops halfway through.

If you check in on two devices for the same habit and day, the later tap wins. Streaks are recomputed on the server after each sync, so a number may adjust by a day once everything lands.

Tips

  • Install SweepTech to your home screen. The installed app caches more and opens faster offline.
  • If a check-in looks like it has not synced, pull to refresh once you have a connection.
  • Timers keep running while the app is in the background. The start time is stored on the device, so a lost connection does not reset it.
