Cookie Notice
SweepTech uses only essential cookies to keep you signed in. No tracking cookies, cookieless analytics, and a toggle to switch analytics off.
Last updated · Version 2026-10-10
The short version
- Essential cookies only: the ones that keep you signed in.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, ever.
- Analytics are cookieless and anonymized. Toggle them off in You → Settings.
- No cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
Essential cookies
These are needed for SweepTech to work. They are set when you sign in or start as a guest, and nowhere else:
- Sign-in session: set by our authentication provider, Supabase. The names begin with sb-. They keep you signed in between visits and are refreshed as you use the app. They go away when you sign out.
- Sign-in handshake: a short-lived cookie used while you sign in with an email link, Google, or Apple, so the response can be matched to the request you started. It is deleted once sign-in completes.
- Invite link: when you open a friend's invite link (/r/...), a cookie named st_ref remembers their code for up to 30 days so the invite is credited when you sign up. It holds only the code and is deleted once it has been used.
The public pages (landing, pricing, templates, guides) set no cookies of their own. You only carry a cookie there if you are signed in or opened an invite link.
Stored in your browser, not cookies
A few things live in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB. They are not cookies, are not sent with requests, and stay on your device:
- Theme preference: light, dark, or system, plus the color theme you picked.
- Offline queue: check-ins made without a connection, waiting to sync.
- Small conveniences: snoozed prompts, timer start times, the last tab you were on.
Clearing site data in your browser removes these. Your synced habits and check-ins are unaffected; they live in your account.
Analytics
We use PostHog for product analytics, configured without cookies: nothing is written to your browser, user ids are hashed before they are sent, there is no session recording, no autocapture, and no advertising use. Events are things like "check-in" and "paywall viewed", never the content of a habit or a note.
Settings toggle: You → Settings → Usage analytics. Off means no analytics events are sent from your account.
Third parties
Stripe sets its own cookies on its hosted checkout and billing portal pages, which run on Stripe's domain under Stripe's cookie policy. No other third party sets cookies through SweepTech.
Changes
If this ever changes, for example because a new feature needs a cookie, we update this notice and the version date, and tell you in the app if it affects you.
